SexAnthRobotics: Sexual objectification and violence tendencies in the context of embodied human-like sex technologies

Goal
The project’s overall goal is to make a key contribution to the existing body of evidence on anthropomorphized sex tech, investigating in depth its connections to sexual objectification and violence tendencies. The project seeks to introduce a novel overarching framework that connects the above tendencies to real-world societal impacts, particularly on distorted perceptions of women and children.
Approach
This project approaches sexual objectification as a significant public health problem for women and children; SexAnthRobotics will integrate insights from diverse disciplines such as experimental psychology, gender studies, sexual violence studies, and robot design ethics to develop an innovative approach for assessing prevalent tendencies toward embodied sexualized technologies. Importantly, aligning with the crucial objectives of promoting gender equality and striving for a society free from sexual violence, this innovative perspective further aims to identify effective strategies for preventing sexual objectification and violence in the context of sex tech and broader society.
